Welcome! My name is Josh Ortega and I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at UC Santa Barbara. My research focuses on the way personality fluctuates throughout the day, and how we may intentionally shift our personality, such as through engaging with art or nature, to make us more creative and/or empathetic. In my free time, I enjoy surfing up and down the Santa Barbara coast, mind-wandering, and painting.
